[freelance] JQuery Hierarchical Table Sorter at Niche Group, Inc.
URL: http://www.nichegroup.com
Description:
Development of a custom JQuery plugin or customizing the jquery.tablesorter plugin to handle hierarchical table sorting. There are a couple of javascript based solutions out there that are have some traits that are required, but do not meet all the requirements, for example:
http://www.pengoworks.com/workshop/jquery/tablesorter/tablesorter.htm
http://www.hanpau.com/jquery/unobtrusivetreetable.php
The only working example I’ve found that pretty much meets the requirement is at:
http://dhtmlx.com/docs/products/dhtmlxTreeGrid/index.shtml
but this uses a completely new javascript library, not at all something that I want to introduce into our application (not mention the extra cost). We’ve standardized on jquery (and tablesorter) and I’d like to keep it that way if possible.
Is anyone available to do some consulting work now, modifying the tablesorter plugin or developing one from scratch that will sort like the last example I cited above?

[freelance] Competitive Pay for Javascript Tasks at Trixy
Description:
YOU – you are a javascript ninja, and even better if you have experience with jquery or other libraries. Perhaps you’ve written your own plugin. Maybe you’re also a CSS artist, and you’re looking for a chance to implement some CSS3 rounded corners.
In exchange for completely kicking ass, I am willing to pay you top dollar, at least for a project of this size.
ME – I am a developer, working on a web application. I’ve just decided to quit my job to start working on this project full time, and circumstances require me to work very, very quickly. I’m going to be doing the lions share of development, but I’d like to offload some front-end development.
This is good, because I can use specific terms like “event handler” and “selector” in specs, so nothing should get lost in translation.
It’s bad – if you’re incompetent, at least – because I have high expectations, and don’t put up with BS.
But that’s okay, cause you’re awesome.
One more thing – this isn’t a big kludgy project. Because you’ll be working as I’m working, I’ll assign you focused tasks that will likely take an hour or two each, and I’ll typically expect them to each be completed within 24-36 hours.
I’ll provide a layout of as much of the schedule as I can, so you can adjust yours accordingly.
Location doesn’t matter. Although it would be cool if you live in the Arctic. If you’re in the Bay Area, I’ll take you out for a beer.
And no equity, but let me know if you’re interested. If we work well together, I may certainly be interested in continuing the working relationship.

[full-time] JavaScript / jQuery developer - work from home at Adaptavist.com
URL: http://www.adaptavist.com
Description:
Most enterprise web apps suck because all the effort goes in to just the server-side aspects of the system and the UI is almost an afterthought. We believe if the UI is pants, the user can’t use the software. If the user can’t use the software, it’s useless no matter how amazing the back-end is. That’s why we need you!
We’ve got all kinds of UI scenarios – from social networking to system configuration – that need some ninja action to make them easier and more pleasing to use.
We develop solutions for a diverse range of customers in over 55 countries and want to make the end-user experience wonderful rather than “just ok”.
We make extensive use of jQuery and are also developing several open-source jQuery plugins geared for enterprise use. We avoid using prototype, script.aculo.us and mootools – while they are powerful libraries, we’ve standardised on jQuery internally because we believe it’s the best approach for enterprise applications and results in more easily maintainable code.
Your work must function correctly on Firefox, Safari, Opera and (sorry…) MSIE. We’re happy for MSIE to show a more basic interface that will be progressively enhanced when viewed by a browser that isn’t broken.
The ideal candidate will be versed in jQuery, progressive enhancement, AJAX, semantic HTML, accessibility (ideally ARIA) and be extremely self-motivated and passionate about their work.
At Adaptavist, we work hard to do things right – products ship when they are ready, as defined by the developers and customer beta testers. We prefer small iterations and an agile approach.
We’re a small company and everyone is expected to play an active role in the development and future direction of the company. Like all members of staff, you’ll be working from home (or anywhere that has an internet connection).
You can find more info about the role, company and stuff we do on our website.

[freelance] jQuery pro needed for drag-n-drop AJAX project (telecommute OK) at Pukka Software
URL: http://www.motorsportreg.com
Description:
Contract-based project work with follow-on opportunities. Work can be done remotely.
Description of project:
——————————————————————————————————————-
Our company has a suite of online registration tools used by event organizers for managing events around the country. Part of our registration process is an order form that can have various types of objects on it including items for sale, questions to answer and so forth. The organizers today have a drag-n-drop interface for ordering, nesting and editing limited attributes of these objects like date ranges and visibility toggles. For more substantial changes, the user must click out of the “form builder” as we call it and make the changes on a set of object-specific regular HTML pages for C/R/U/D.
We wish to take these multiple tools and merge them into a single drag-n-drop editor that does everything in a single interface. It will make the form builder more complex but will greatly reduce the overall complexity of managing the registration form.
We have standardized on jQuery for our application and currently we’re using an older library called Interface to provide the drag-and-drop nested sortable functionality as well as some other plugins. As part of this update, we’re interested in migrating to jQuery UI for better long term viability. We are open source fans, so if any work in this project was relevant to the jQuery community at large we would gladly contribute it back to the project.
We will handle the server-side code as needed and provide the API. You will be responsible for client-side javascript, HTML and CSS but feedback on interaction design or anything else is encouraged and welcomed as we build a much better version of our tool.
Interested?

Senior Quality Engineer (Automation) needed to run and optimize all automated testing infrastructure for our highly sophisticated Business Process Management Suite. Position offers an attractive base and incentive bonus package that includes competitive benefits, as well as the opportunity to help us revolutionize the way business software is built!
We are a highly successful, venture-backed, pre-IPO software company located in the Washington, DC area with hundreds of customers worldwide. We provide an extremely powerful platform for business users to create and evolve sophisticated, scalable, web-based applications in both enterprise and SaaS environments without writing a single line of code.
