We are looking for a front-end web developer with a strong Javascript/jQuery background and experience working on highly scalable and high availability applications. A strong adherence to web standards and up to date knowledge of the latest trends in this area (HTML5/CSS3) is vital. You should be very familiar with the inner workings of jQuery and javascript, where it shines and where it doesn’t. You should also be familiar with using a web framework for development (Ideally Django, but it’s not 100% necessary that you know it to start). We have a fast moving, dynamic team and use cutting edge technologies like Cassandra, Redis, and Django to keep ahead of the curve. We are looking for someone who’s up to this challenge.

You should be an expert with:
Web development, semantic markup, HTML/XHTML, jQuery, Javascript, AJAX, CSS, Cross-browser compatibility, and version control (ideally Git).

Bonus knowledge:
Django, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Celery, Cassandra, Nginx, Java, Solr/Lucene, Redis.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Translate Photoshop documents and wireframes into valid, semantically
structured web pages and stylesheets. Candidate must be able to develop complex layouts without tables.
  • Add behavioral enhancements (visual effects, form validation) to web pages through the use of unobtrusive, DOM-compliant scripts.
  • Work with feature creation teams and content editors to develop, implement and refine new feature requests for Comcast.net and other products
